Miscellaneous Italian Moments

....goodtimes :)...

So, the Pope's in good shape from what I could see in the jumbo tron :P lol All the churches seemed to be outfitted with the latest Bose systems too. Excellent score by the P-Man ;)

The Pope & his entourage are actually under the lil' awning on the front steps of the Basilica. It was just by chance that we strolled around St.Peter's square when the Pope was speaking. He was talking to Argentinean Catholics. I didn't get much of his speech (not understanding Latin and Spanish well), but I'm sure he had good things to say :D

This is a view from the steps of Trinita di Monti church onto to streets of Rome. Italy's nuts for their stairs.

This is a view of Roma's buildings from the rear balcony of di Monti.

This is pic I took thru differing arches in the coliseum. These arches were in the best shape were you could still see the brick work. Most of the coliseum is rumble.

I snapped this photo from inside the coliseum too. I thought the blend of the ancient and modern-ish was thought-provoking.

View of further Roman ruins from inside the coliseum.

This is another view from the arches of the Coliseum, looking onto the Arch of Constantine. I like to think that that lil' white blobby on the right of the pic is a spirit of times past....not just a rain drop or bug :P

The Vatican walkway on the way to the Sistine Chapel~

DSCF0497.JPG

This is a close-up of the different Vatican walkways. The two dark strips on the ceiling are were they actually have to keep the ceilings & walls "taped" together. There's "duct taped" areas all over the Vatican public areas.

DSCF0496.JPG

I was surprised by all the large windows that were fully opened in the Vatican walkways. This is a view from one of the windows - the Pope's backyard so-to-speak. lol

I've overloaded this blog software - opps. I'll have to add more pics later. Ciao!
